B.A. Marmara University, Francophone Department of Political and Administrative Sciences (2001); M.A. Ege University, International Relations (2004), M.A. Paris I- Panthéon Sorbonne University, Political Sociology (2005) and Ph.D Paris I- Panthéon Sorbonne University, Political Science (2011). (Ph.D. Dissertation title: Analyse figurationnelle des fêtes impériales et des divertissements des élites ottomanes (XVIe-XIXe siècle) [Figurational analysis of imperial festivals and of Ottoman elites entertainments (XVI-XIX centuries]) She worked as a research assistant at Ege University at the International Relations Department (2001-2004). She gained French Government scholarship for 12 months (2004-2005). İrem Özgören Kınlı is working as a full-time lecturer in Media and Communication Department since September 2006. She teaches undergraduate courses in Theories of Communication, Daily Life and Communication, History of Communication, and Gender & Media. Her research subjects are interdisciplinary and cover the issues of Sociology of Communication, Political Communication, History of Communication, Theories of Communication, Figurational Sociology and Political Sociology. Her research focus and publication are on gender and media, Norbert Elias, civilizing process and Ottoman Empire.
