SHORT CV

N. Toros Mutlu (b. 1986) graduated from Izmir University of Economics in 2010 with a BA degree from the Faculty of Communication and enrolled to MA Photography programme in University of Brighton in the same year. Following his graduation in 2011, he worked as a photographer and an image editor in a London studio for about a year.

Mutlu joined Izmir University of Economics in 2013 and in the following year co-founded KartonKitap with Umut Altıntaş, an art book initiative focuses on inviting artists to collaborate and reinterpret their works in the book form. He completed his doctorate studies in 2020 at Yaşar University with his thesis titled, “The Photobook as an Autonomous Medium and a Work of Art” and accompanying final work, “A Place for Everything When Everything in Its Place”. Mutlu currently teaches at the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design in Izmir University of Economics and continues his photography projects.
