Ali Ercan Ozgur (Turkey) holds a PhD from Marmara University on the “Development Agencies in Turkey under the auspices of EU”. He also holds a BA in Political Science and International Relations from Marmara University and an MSc in Governance and Development Management degree from the University of Birmingham. Ali Ercan is currently the founder and Managing Director of IDEMA International Development Partners , needsmap.coop, inogar.coop and inogarart.com. He previously served as the Executive Director of the American Chamber of Commerce in Turkey while he also possesses wide civil society experience with stints, inter alia, at the Habitat Governance and Development Center; the Educational Volunteers Foundation of Turkey (TEGV); and the Turkish Economic and Social Studies Foundation (TESEV). He is also a British Foreign & Commonwealth Office Chevening Scholar; a Marshall Memorial Fellow of German Marshall Fund of the United States; and a Black Sea Young Reformer.
He holds British Council Social Impact Award and he is Ashoka Fellow and author of "Local Government Systems: Turkey, France, Spain, Italy, Poland and Czech Republic", "Human Rights in Business" and "Strategic Planning and Budgeting for Child Friendly Cities" books. He has presented various articles, ran projects and delivered speech on civil society, urban innovation, local and regional development, social and platform cooperativism.
