Altay Ozkul received his undergraduate degree from Izmir University of Economics (Turkey), Department of Translation and Interpreting, and his MA degree from Iowa State University (United States) on Teaching English as a Second Language & Applied Linguistics. He currently pursues his PhD degree at Iowa State University on Applied Linguistics & Technology. He previously worked as a freelance translator before his graduate studies. He also worked as a full-time lecturer and graduate teaching assistant for Iowa State University, Department of English, where he taught various courses such as critical thinking, WOVE (written-oral-visual-electronic) communication, English composition and academic oral communication strategies in English. He is currently working at Izmir University of Economics, Department of English Translation and Interpretation as an adjunct lecturer. In his graduate career, his major research interests are computer-assisted language learning, teaching writing and systemic functional linguistics.
