Baris Attila is a creative director based in Miami and Izmir.
Baris received his BFA in graphic design from Mimar Sinan University in 2001 and his master’s degree in communication design from Pratt Institute in New York in 2003. Soon after graduation, he began to work at Miramax Films designing motion graphics for their critically acclaimed and Oscar contender films such as Gangs of New York, Cold Mountain, Hero and Kill Bill. He received the prestigious Golden Trailer Award for his work on the City of God trailer and was nominated for a Key Art Award for his work on Chicago.
In the following years, Baris continued to work for the motion picture industry in Los Angeles. Concentrating on film titles, trailers and feature marketing, he worked on many Hollywood productions such as Lucky Number Slevin, Talladega Nights, Monsters vs. Aliens, How to Train Your Dragon and Eagle Eye. He collaborated with numerous companies from industry pioneers like Pacific Title to industry leaders such as Ignition Creative and Picture Mill.
Baris started Aurora Creative Studio in Istanbul in 2012. He designed the memorable animated logo for Ay Yapım and opening titles for bunch of well known Turkish dramas such as Karadayı and Kara Para Aşk during this period. He received a Bass Award for the opening title that he did for Karadayı in 2013.
Baris and his work have been featured in domestic and international media numerous times. He also has taught various design and advertising related courses at City University of New York and Pratt Institute. He is married and a father of two girls.
