Bengü Aydın received her Bachelors degree in International Relations and European Union from İzmir University of Economis with full scholarship. As part of Erasmus student exchange program, she was taught at European Studies in Maastricht University, Netherlands. She took her Master’s degree from Boğaziçi University Political Science and International Relations in 2009. Meanwhile, she was awarded with TUBITAK’s national scholarship for graduate students. She earned her PhD degree at Political Science at Galatasaray University (Istanbul) in 2016. Sponsored by Jean Monnet fellowship programme (12 months) she carried out part of her research as a visiting doctoral scholar under supervision of Prof. James-Chakraborty at the School of Art History and Cultural Policy, University College Dublin (Ireland). In her dissertation she examined the relationship between art (specifically painting) and politics during the single-party era in Turkey. Her research interests are Turkish politics, environmental politics, cultural policies, cultural history and EU-Turkey relations.
