Burak Doğu is a Professor of Communication and Director of the EKOKENT Research and Application Center at Izmir University of Economics. He formerly served as Head of the Department of New Media and Communication and Vice Dean of the Faculty of Communication. During 2016-17, he was a research fellow at New York University’s Department of Sociology. He earned his Ph.D. from Ege University, during which he completed an academic year at University of Turin and University of Eastern Piedmont. His published academic papers have appeared in journals such as Environmental Communication, Journalism, International Journal of Communication, and Democratization. Doğu teaches courses on communication and digital media theories and supervises senior projects. His research interests include environmental communication, framing, social movements, and networking.
