Ceren Cengiz was born in 1990 in Izmir. She made her first breakthrough in the field of design and art with a painting competition which was arranged by Edak Cooperative in 1998. She received a silver certificate in the painting competition in Macedonia in 2003. She received her bachelor degree in the field of Industrial Design at Izmir University of Economics in 2013 and her master and Proficiency in Art degrees in the field of Ceramic And Glass Design at İzmir Dokuz Eylül Universiy in 2015 and in 2019. She assisted Prof. Sevim Çizers’ course Designing in Clay and Plaster, Advanced Designing in Clay and Plaster between 2018 and 2022 at Izmir University of Economics. In 2020, her work was selected for the final review. at the 4th China Ceramic Art Design Exhibition which was sponsored by the Chinese Ceramic Society, Jingdezhen Ceramic Institute, and Shangyu, Shaoxing City, Zheijang Province. Her porcelain work has been exhibited and has been included in the permanent collection in Korea Fantapia M Chang Kil Hwan Art Museum. Moreover, her ceramics / paintings/ design works have been selected at Lithuania, Philippines, Iran, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Nepal, Libya, Netherlands, Turkey and Myanmar. She has received important awards in some competitions. Her work was selected for Without Borders (Sculpture and Installation Category) which was organized by The World University of Design in India in 2020. In 2021, her work was selected under best 100 artist which organized by Bindaas Artist Group, Chitrankan, (International Online Art Competition & Art Exhibition), India. She has been continuing her research on ceramic and porcelain culture, handicrafts and the relationship of lifestyles with art and design. She is currently working in Ieu Krea as a volunteer. Moreover, she has been continuing her freelance work in her personal atelier.
