She received her B.E. degree in the field of textile engineering at Ege University in 2000, and her M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in the field of industrial design at Izmir Institute of Technology in 2004 and at Istanbul Technical University in 2012. She worked as a research assistant at Izmir Institute of Technology between 2001 and 2004 and at Izmir University of Economics in 2005. She has been working as an instructor since September 2005 at Izmir University of Economics. She was a visiting researcher at Sheffield Hallam University in the academic year of 2008-2009. She worked in several projects at Izmir Institute of Technology and Izmir University of Economics-EKOTAM (Design and Research Centre), and presented papers at the conferences. She is the coordinator of “Design Research” and “Graduation Thesis” courses at the Department of Industrial Design, IUE. Her research interests include design history, design evolution, memetics, basic design and design research methods.
