Elvan Ozkavruk Adanır studied textile engineering at Ege University, Faculty of Engineering. She got her masters and doctorate degree in art at Dokuz Eylül University, Institute of Social Sciences respectively in 1992 and 1997. She worked as research assistant, lecturer, assistant professor and associate professor of traditional arts at Dokuz Eylül University between 1990 and 2008. In 2008 she got her professorship from Dokuz Eylül University. She published four books, 22 papers, 8 articles, and 2 book chapters. She translated the book written by J. Bronowski-B. Mazlish named “Western Intellectual Tradition from Leonardo to Hegel”. Her art works are accepted for international permanent collections. She opened several solo exhibitions and attended mixed exhibitions.
