Helin Kardelen Kavuş is a PhD student in Sociology at Middle East Technical University. She is currently working as a Research Assistant at the Izmir University of Economics in the Department of Sociology. She gained her bachelor's and master’s degrees from the Department of Sociology, Middle East Technical University. Her master’s thesis was about female ethnic entrepreneurship in the context of Turkish women entrepreneurship in Germany. She uses qualitative research and her research areas include migration, feminization of migration, ethnic entrepreneurship, and high-skilled migration from Turkey. For her ongoing doctoral studies, she has conducted field research in Athens as an Erasmus PhD exchange student at the Department of Social Anthropology, Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences. Her doctoral research focuses on contemporary migration of educated youth from Turkey to Greece working in call centres.
