SHORT CV

Prof. Kerem Batır was graduated from Ankara University School of Law in 1995. He obtained his MA degree in 1998 with the thesis on international treaties. He started his academic life in Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University FEAS International Relations department as a research assistant of International Law in 1997. In 1998 he moved to Marmara University European Union Institute where he obtained his PhD degree in EU Law. He was graduated in 2004. During his PhD, in 2001 he was awarded with EU’s “Jean Monnet Scholarship” and he obtained his LLM degree from London School of Economics in 2002. Currently he is faculty member of İzmir Katip Çelebi University Law Faculty.
Kerem Batır is an expert in International Law and EU Law. His researches include use of Force in International Law, International Law of the Sea and EU Competition Law. He published three books (Humanitarian Intervention in International Law, Piracy in 21st Century and Citizenship in International Law) and several articles (in national and international journals).
