Kısmet Funda Akgül Zazaoğlu graduated from Dokuz Eylül University, Buca Educational Faculty, English Department in 1992. She started her teaching career at Ege Language Centre. Next, she worked at English Star as the school owner and Director of Studies. Between 2000 and 2003, she worked at Çakabey Schools teaching 10th and 11th grade language classes. Between 2003 and 2005, she worked at Tire Fatih Primary School. She joined IUE in September 2005. She worked as the Head of the Curriculum and Material Development Unit at IUE from 2009 to 2016. She completed the following courses: Teacher Training Course, Pilgrims English Language Courses, University of Kent, Cambridge, August 2007; In-service Certificate in English Language Teaching (ICELT), IUE & University of Cambridge, September 2007; and Communicative Language Teaching, IUE, November 2007. Furthermore, she gave the following presentations: “All for One, One for All”, Bilkent University, June 2007 & Exeter University, IATEFL Conference, April 2008; “How to Ask the Right Questions”, Cardiff City Hall, IATEFL Conference, April 2009; “Modular System – A Challenging Change”, IUE, March 2011. She also has two publications: “Developing A CEF-Based Curriculum: A Case Study”, International Journal of Instruction, January 2012, Volume 5, Number 1 and “An Autonomy Story”, Independence, Issue 54.
