Lâle has a PhD from Izmir Institute of Technology. Her research project ArchiRobie(Artificial Intelligence(AI)Architect) continues in the Izmir University of Economics where she is an Associate Professor in the Department of Architecture.
Her professional experience ranges from architectural design to consumer electronics design and to the art of glassblowing. To explore and uncover diverse knowledge, she believes, one needs to stay interdisciplinary. Therefore, she stays at an equal distance to science and art.
Başarır received her MSc from Architectural Design Computing Program at Istanbul Technical University (ITU), and her BArch in Architecture from Gazi University, Ankara. She studied Industrial Design as a second degree at CCAC(now CC&A) in San Francisco. Her graduate thesis research “Possible Futures For Architectural Entities Within the Context Of Transdisciplinary Technological Developments”. led her to the inaugural Graduate Studies Program ’09 at Singularity University at NASA Ames Research Center in 2009 , with full scholarship.
Since 2011 she taught Architectural Design Studio, Basic Design Studio, BIM and CAD drawing, and Artificial Intelligence in Architecture courses. Lâle Başarır serves as a board member of the Izmir Chamber of Architects.
