Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mine Güngörmüşler received her B.Sc. degree in Biology from Hacettepe University in 2007 and her M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Bioengineering from Ege University in 2010 and 2014, respectively. She continued her thesis studies at the University of Bologna, Italy and the University of Manitoba, Canada with the scholarships she won during her PhD. After 3 years of experience in a multinational company after his graduation, he has been working as a faculty member in the Department of Genetics and Bioengineering at Izmir University of Economics since 2017. She served as the Head of the Department of Bioengineering Graduate Program at IUE between 2018-2023 and as the Vice Dean of IUE Graduate School between 2019-2023. Within the scope of TUBITAK 1512 BIGG, she was entitled to receive support with her academician partners with the project titled "Value added Bioproduct Production from Solid and Gas Wastes" and they established HOPE Biotechnology Start-Up Company on January 25, 2022 and started their activities in the field of gas fermentation with bioprocesses. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Güngörmüşler has been involved in various national and TUBITAK funded projects in the fields of environment, food and biotechnology as an executive, researcher and fellow. She has co-authored several international publications on sustainability, biohydrogen, environmental biotechnology and bioproducts in leading international peer-reviewed journals and participated in national and international conferences. Her research interests include biohydrogen production, waste biovalorization, environmental biotechnology, immobilized bioreactor systems, fermentation, proteomics, biostatistics and probiotics.
