After completing his high school education at Bornova Anatolian High School, Dr. Mustafa Reha Okur completed his undergraduate and graduate studies at Yaşar University and received his Ph.D. from Yaşar University Business Administration program in 2019. He worked as a research assistant in the Department of Business Administration of the same university between 2013-2020. Before his current duty at the Izmir University of Economics, he taught at the Izmir University of Economics as a part-time lecturer for two semesters. During his doctoral studies, he was a visiting researcher at the University of Groningen for a year. In addition, he became one of the Risk Institute researchers between 2019-2022 with the research award he received from the Ohio State University Risk Institute.
His area of expertise covers the applications of corporate governance, auditing, financial statement fraud, accounting fraud, and machine learning applications in the field of accounting and finance to develop effective, accountable, and transparent institutions at all levels. Although Dr. Mustafa Reha Okur has many academic studies in his field, he has worked as a coordinator and researcher in many European Union projects and projects supported by various national/international institutions.
