He was born in Denizli. At 4 he went with his family to Germany, where he completed primary, secondary and high school. In 1978 he settled back to Turkey. He studied German Language and Literature at Ege University. During his education he took Latin lessons for two semesters. He worked as a translator for the presidency of general staff. He was a certified translator for about 12 years. He worked as a lecturer for 21 years at Dokuz Eylül, Ege and Ankara University. He was Head of Department of Foreign Languages at Tömer in Ankara University. He received the certificate of teaching Turkish as a foreign language from Ankara University. He is a licensed German tourist guide working for the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Since 1984, he has worked in his spare time as a licensed tourist guide. He has received a certificate for folk dance from Balçova Public Education Center. He is also a swimming instructor and a life guard. (DLRG Grundschein)
2011 he successfully acquired the examiner license for TELC German A2, B1 and B2. The license entitles him to evaluate the expression of the written tests and oral examinations. Since January 2018, he has been organising cultural and educational trips to Berlin and Munich.
