Pamela McArthur was born in Edinburgh, Scotland. After graduating in Government and Modern History from Heriot-Watt University, she did a postgraduate diploma in Industrial Administration at Napier University. Her first employment was with a large American multi-national company where she was in charge of the financial accounting department. She worked with them for 11 years before becoming the Operations Manager of a private training company affiliated to the local further education college. After obtaining her TESOL certificate, Pamela moved to Izmir, Turkey in 2002 to teach adults and children at a private language school. In 2008 she began working at Izmir University of Economics where she has been a member of both the Testing and Curriculum and Materials Development Teams. She recently developed a new course for Tecnical English for Engineers. She has qualifications in assessing, coaching and appraising staff.
