Pamela McArthur was born in Edinburgh, Scotland. After graduating in Government and Modern History from Heriot-Watt University, she did a postgraduate diploma in Industrial Administration at Napier University. Her first employment was with a large American multi-national company where she was in charge of the financial accounting department. She worked with them for 11 years before becoming the Operations Manager of a private training company affiliated to the local further education college. After obtaining her TESOL certificate, Pamela moved to Izmir, Turkey in 2002 to teach adults and children at a private language school. In 2008 she began working at Izmir University of Economics where she has been a member of both the Testing and Curriculum and Materials Development Teams. She has qualifications in assessing, coaching and appraising staff. She is also an examiner for Cambridge Young Learners,KET, PET and FCE examinations.
