Sevda Kaya Kitınur graduated from Ankara University with a double major in Sinology and Radio, Television and Cinema in 2011. After graduating from university, she won Huayu Enrichment Scholarship and studied Mandarin in Taiwan. She subsequently came back to Turkey and started studying master’s degree.
By defending her thesis entitled “The Phenomenon of Collective Memory in Post-Cultural Revolution Chinese Cinema: Scar Dramas”, she attained her master’s degree in Radio Tv and Cinema from Ege University. Having a TESOL certificate, she worked as an English teacher at different language schools.
She is currently pursuing her PhD at Ege University. She has been working as a research assistant at Izmir University of Economics since 2021.
Her academic interests include visual studies, collective memory, cultural studies, Chinese cinema and transmedia studies.
