Prof. Baltacıoğlu, after graduating from Galatasaray High School, attended Ankara Academy of Economics and Commercial Sciences, and completed his undergraduate studies in 1969. Following the Standardization and Quality Control Seminar organized by AFNOR French Standards Association, Baltacıoğlu started his PH. D in 1970 and completed his doctoral degree in 1975. Afterwards, he moved to Michigan, USA and pursued his post graduate studies between the years 1976-1977. He’s become an associate professor in 1979 and professor in 1988.
Prof. Baltacıoğlu served as a faculty member at Gazi University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Department of Production Management and Marketing for many years. In 1979-1981, he worked as Director for Muğla Tourism Management School. He also held the office as Chairman of the Board of Directors for Central Anatolian Exporters Union, Executive Committeee member, general coordinator, and administrative board member for many private establishments at different times. After having completed his duty as the Dean of Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences at Cyprus International University, he started to work at Izmir University of Economics in 2002, and became the Director of Vocational School, Head of the Department of Logistics Management, Director of School of Applied Managements, respectively. Prof. Baltacıoğlu, who successfully served as Vice Rector between the years 2006-2012, was assigned as Rector in 2012 and resumed duty until April 2014. Prof. Baltacıoğlu currently works as a lecturer at Department of Logistics Management. Moreover, Prof. Baltacıoğlu has numerous publications and research on Marketing and Logistics Management.
