Yasemin Yorgancıoğlu has completed her high school education at the Izmir American Collegiate Institute. She then studied Linguistics and Speech and Hearing Sciences at the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington. After returning to Turkey, she studied English Language and Literature at the Aegean University. Her teaching career has involved teaching at several state high schools and private schools. She took part in the foundation process of the School of Foreign Languages at the İzmir Institute of Technology in 1995. She joined IUE in 2001 and ,once more, took part in the founding faculty of an educational institute of university level. She has been a lecturer and an Academic Coordinator in the Preparatory Program of Izmir University of Economics since September 2001. In addition, she is a qualified UCLES examiner.
