SHORT CV

-After completing his undergraduate education in Electric & Electronics at Gazi University, Ankara-Turkey, he has received Candidatus Magisterii, Candidatus Scientiarum, and Ph.D degrees, all in Computer Science and all from Institute of Informatics, University of Oslo, Norway. He joined The Institute of Technology of Norway during 1987-1990 and during 1991-1997 Center for Information Technology (USIT) at the University of Oslo, where he has published two textbooks on UNIX and Shell Programming and several papers, while focusing on computer simulation and medical signal processing.

Upon moving to Turkey, Kondakci has joined National Research Institute of Electronics and Cryptology (NRIEC) at the Scientific and Technical Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK), where he conducted research projects within security of mission critical systems. Among other technical and managerial tasks, he has founded the Common Criteria based Information Security Test & Evaluation Laboratory at NRIEC-TUBITAK.

During this period, he has developed and conducted various projects for Turkish General Staff of Turkish Armed Forces (TGS/TAF), dealing with design of security policy, security infrastructure, architecture, mechanisms, and test and evaluation procedures required for a wide range of IT environments. He has contributed several works to NATO on behalf of TGS/TAF. Among others, he has designed the Security of Distributed Object Systems for NATO INFOSEC Framework.
Kondakci is currently assigned at the Faculty of Engineering & Computer Sciences at Izmir University of Economics, where he mainly teaches Data Structures & Algorithms, Computer Networks, and Cryptography & Network Security. His recent research projects include the development of Risk Assessment methods and mechanisms for Critical IT Environments, Wireless Sensor Networks, Embedded Systems, Biomedical Engineering, and Telehealth.
